ÁLEX MÁRQUEZ QUALIFIES AS TOP HONDA FOR SAN MARINO GP

Álex Márquez put himself on the sixth row of grid after again showing impressive signs on day two at Misano. The LCR Honda CASTROL showed improvement throughout Saturday’s sessions and, after narrowly missing out on automatic qualification for Q2, finished as the leading Honda bike ahead of tomorrow’s race on the Rimini riviera.

Starting the day in 15th spot, the Spaniard put in a late charge in FP3 and was unfortunate to finish in 11th position, just five hundredths behind Luca Marini in tenth. His pace looked solid in FP4 as he ended in 14th and, although he had to settle for sixth in Q1 (16th on the grid) the Sunday specialist will be confident of challenging for a top-10 finish in tomorrow’s race.
