ÁLEX MÁRQUEZ TARGETS MORE IMPROVEMENT AT ASSEN
LCR Honda CASTROL rider Álex Márquez ended the opening day of free practice for the Dutch Grand Prix in 16th position overall. Friday’s sessions took place in contrasting conditions as the weather once again complicated matters for the premier class at Assen.
FP1 kicked off under clear, sunny skies and Álex used the session to acquaint himself to the circuit on MotoGP machinery for the first time – ending in 18th position. Although rain then started to fall in FP2, the Spaniard made good progress as he improved by over half a second and is now hoping the weather is kind on Saturday morning as he looks for direct qualification to Q2.
